Spectacles Powered by Snap

Ten years of mobile AR. 350 million daily users. 4.5 trillion annual engagements¹. AR is already part of daily life. As Snap looks ahead to the planned 2026 consumer launch of Spectacles, the conversation is shifting from what if to what’s next.

In a keynote titled “The AR Stack That Ships,” Atley Loughridge, Design Engineer at Snap Inc., will walk through Snap’s complete AR journey: from teaching cameras to understand faces, bodies, and entire cities on mobile to bringing that same technical stack to Spectacles, launching to the public this year.

The session will explore how Snap’s commitment to inclusive AR has lowered the barrier to entry into AR and created a thriving developer ecosystem. With 400,000 developers worldwide creating over 4 million lenses, Lens Studio² has proven itself as the AR stack that ships. Build once and deploy to Snapchat, Camera Kit, the web, and Spectacles.

Key announcements and topics include:

Consumer Spectacles: New lightweight, full-featured Spectacles launching to the public this year: smaller, lighter, with AI + AR integration and backwards compatibility with existing lenses

Snap Cloud Powered By Supabase: bringing secure, scalable backend to Spectacles, enabling live, persistent, and multiplayer AR experiences powered by databases, realtime sync, storage, and server-side edge functions

Lens Studio releases native GenAI tooling and MCP Tools to extend functionality to GitHub, Copilot, Cursor, Claude and more

In addition to the keynote, attendees can go hands-on with Spectacles and more of Snap’s leading AR technology, where they can connect with the developer team and explore community-created lenses.
